Second Health Camp in Ottoman Legacy Yumbe!
Çare Doctors achieved great success with their first health camp in the Yumbe region of Uganda, a place with deep ties to the Ottoman legacy. Now, they are rolling up their sleeves to expand this success even further. The association, aiming to touch the lives of thousands with the second health camp starting on September 12, brings hope to those living in areas with no access to healthcare services. As the calendar marks September 12, we will once again set out to bring hope to thousands who lack access to healthcare services in these lands that are a heritage of the Ottoman Empire.
What Happened During Our First Health Camp?
In our first Yumbe Health Camp, held in February 2024, we achieved significant successes. Under the leadership of our ophthalmologists, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Genç, Op. Dr. İlker Yalçın, Op. Dr. Mustafa Yanık, and general surgeon Dr. Suat Benek, successful surgeries were conducted. Cataract surgeries and other surgical interventions brought hope not only to the people of Yumbe but also to patients coming from Sudan. This health camp greatly improved the local population's access to healthcare services, once again highlighting the importance of Turkey's international aid efforts.
Our Goals with the New Camp
Now, to take this success even further and reach a broader audience, we are returning to Yumbe. Together with our 25-member expert team, we will conduct various health screenings, primarily focusing on eye diseases, to address the health issues of the local population. In addition to meeting the healthcare needs of the local community, we aim to establish an eye clinic in Yumbe to provide long-term healthcare services. The establishment of this eye clinic and the health camp will contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services in Yumbe, allowing patients to access the treatments they need.
A New Era in Healthcare Services in Yumbe
The lack of adequate healthcare services in the Yumbe region adversely affects the daily lives of the local population. As Çare Association, we are establishing an eye clinic in Yumbe to change this situation and increase the community's access to healthcare services. This clinic, equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices, will enable surgeries, particularly for eye diseases like cataracts, and help protect the eye health of the local community.
Bringing Hope to Yumbe with the Medical Supplies Sent
Among the aid sent by Çare Association are advanced medical devices, including 2 Leica M620 ophthalmic microscopes, an Alcon Phaco machine, and a KR 8100 Keratometer. These devices, along with trypan blue, foldable lenses, and other surgical equipment used in eye surgeries, have arrived in Uganda. The 1-ton shipment of 25 types of medical supplies will hopefully enable the establishment of a modern eye clinic in Yumbe.
We Await Your Support
As Çare Association, we not only provide healthcare services through such projects but also uphold our humanitarian values. You can join this movement of goodness and support our health camp in Yumbe with your donations.
